Earlier this year we launched our Last To Share platform to encourage people to tell their friends about the merchants we profile. We’ve had a lot of success with our current platform. For instance we have more than 20x times the sharing activity per deal then some of the largest competitors. We have paid out more than 270 cash bounties over the past several months.
We knew going into it that we’d want to iterate and refine the idea, and so we were excited to launch and learn. Today we launch our newly designed Last To Share platform and we think that it’s going to significantly improve the SalesVote experience.
The biggest change is that no longer can someone share as often as they wish. We found that by actually having people share however many times they wanted to, in order to win the cash bounty, they sometimes ended up pushing others away. So now we have Limited Shares each day and if you want more chances to win, then you’re encourage to write a review, buy the deal or even share early. By making it a little more challenging for people to earn additional shares, we will allow for more people to play and try to win the cash bounty
Sharing early is a great way to earn additional shares. Before there was no incentive to share early, because you were guaranteed to not be the last to share. Now if you share an hour before the timer expires, you earn an extra share for later in the day. And the more share allotments you have, the great the chance you have to win.
Also we’ve added some nice touches like a dynamic analytics top bar that shows not just how many shares you have left, but how many people are currently vying to be the last to share.
We have done other changes, like employ Google’s web fonts for a cleaner interface, installed Olark to chat with visitors, and focused on keeping things clean and clear without sacrificing personality.
We will be doing more changes over the next several weeks, like revising the Hall of Fame, profiles and other related pages. But we are really excited about today’s changes and how the limited sharing will improve the experience for every one.
Tweet or write to us about what you think. . . . thanks!
